Beginning at 40

Manga artist WATANUKI Shinobu resolves to become a full-time housewife on the occasion of moving, but decides to write manga anew when her past works are digitized and become hits. At 40, she tackles her dreams, her work, and her love for the handsome young 22-year old TACHIBANA Chiaki. In Shinobu, a wife and mother living with her husband and son, the author depicts the worries, conflicts, and anxieties of women the same age. (Japan Media Arts Festival Archive)
