Batsukoto Nagai, a.k.a. Bat-kun, is a junior high school student. Bat-kun joins the baseball team as a substitute and aspires to become a professional player.

Along with this, the story depicts his daily life with his family and interactions with his teammates in a lighthearted manner . At one point, he goes to a professional baseball game at Korakuen Stadium with his father and guesses the number of home runs hit by Tetsuji Kawakami on that day.
