In the 20th year of the Keicho era, Hideyori committed suicide during the Summer Siege of Osaka, leading to the downfall of the Toyotomi family. Hideyori's wife and Ieyasu's granddaughter, Senhime, was rescued by the Tokugawa army. However, among the five ladies-in-waiting accompanying Senhime on her journey to Edo was a female ninja pregnant with Hideyori's child.
